JSP was originally established in 1994 when Jackie Parker, a social worker in the head injury social work team based in the Royal Hallamshire Hospital Sheffield, began working with her first client. Jackie is still actively involved in the company's direction and development.
We now work with over 400 clients nationally and have opened offices in Sheffield (1999 and 2011), in Newcastle (2002), in Manchester (2004) and in Edinburgh (2007).
Clinical case management will always be our core service, however this service is augmented by the additions of our occupational therapy service in 1999, our equipment and adaptations service in 2010 and, more recently, our children and young people’s occupational therapy service and our vocational rehabilitation service in 2016.
In response to the need for specialist training in the field of brain injury, in 2001 we designed the first brain injury informed support worker course to be recognised by the Open College Network (now Certa) - and the first students gained accreditation. We continue to provide a full in house training programme and selected training to outside agencies.
We continue to improve the lives of individuals with complex care needs as a result of brain injury, spinal injury, cerebral palsy, complex orthopaedic injuries, amputation and other life changing conditions.
Always keen to ensure we help as many individuals as possible, as we look to the future we hope to be able to expand our services and coverage across the UK. Our website will be updated regularly with our progress to keep you informed.
