This is a practical one day course providing an introduction to understanding emotional and behavioural changes after brain injury, the impact of these on daily life and support strategies which can help when responding to client’s needs.
This will be of benefit to professionals who are new to the field of brain injury, as well as more experienced staff who want to refresh their knowledge.
Participants will need to have a basic understanding of brain injury and associated cognitive difficulties prior to attending this session.
The day will focus on:
Factors which contribute to emotional and behavioural changes
Anxiety and depression
Insight and awareness
Impulsivity and disinhibition
Behaviours which can be challenging
