Brain Injury in film

The latest film written and directed by British actor and director Paddy Considine, had its premiere at the London film festival last week (October 12th). Considine’s new film centres around a boxer who suffers a serious brain injury through the sport he loves. The film depicts the life changing experience the main character (Matty, also played by Considine) goes through.

The hard-hitting narrative of how his injury affects Matty and those around him was informed by Jill Dewick and Jane Warren, case managers at JSP. Jill and Jane worked with Paddy and his team in the making of the film, sharing experiences of brain injury both from a professional and personal perspective.

Jane and Jill attended the premiere of the film at the London Film Festival as special guests. The film has been receiving rave reviews (like this one http://bit.ly/2xD3WM7), with praise for the way Considine portrays the hurdles those who suffer brain injuries have to face.

The premiere marks the end of a satisfying experience for Jane and Jill and they were delighted to see the film alongside Paddy and the rest of the cast.
