Honorary Fellowship for Jackie Parker

Posted on: 19th July 2016

The British Association of Brain Injury Case Managers (BABICM) honours Jackie and other past chairs.

As one of 6 past chairs of the association, Jackie Parker, founder and managing director of JS Parker Ltd, was awarded an Honorary Fellowship at the organisation’s 20th anniversary celebrations in June 2016. We’re delighted!

Jackie began working as a case manager in 1994, initially as a lone practitioner. She went on to set up JS Parker Ltd (JSP), which now employs over 80 staff across 4 locations. As a company we have been supporting brain injured clients and their families - as well as individuals affected by other catastrophic injuries and complex disabilities - for over 20 years.

Recognised for her pioneering work in establishing and promoting case management as a profession, Jackie was the first case manager to be selected to be chair of BABICM, succeeding Dr Neil Brookes, consultant clinical neuropsychologist. Jackie served as chair for 3 years between 2000 and 2003.

Not only has Jackie dedicated time personally, serving on a number of sub groups, she has also encouraged individuals within JSP to be actively involved in the work of BABICM - developing and promoting case management in the field of brain injury.

We are very grateful for Jackie’s contributions to the field of work we are all part of, thanks to Jackie’s vision and determination.

Congratulations Jackie from all of us at JSP!

“This award came as a complete surprise to me on the night. I am honoured and delighted, so thank you BABICM. I am proud to have had a role in the early development of the role of the brain injury case manager and would encourage all members to look to ways in which they can continue to support the work of the organisation, ensuring that quality remains at the heart of the service provided to our catastrophically injured clients.” - Jackie Parker
