Our training team

Lucy Naven, our Training Team Manager reflects on past, present and future working practices.

The JSP Training team has always been geographically split – with some team members based in our Sheffield office, some in our North East office and some in between.  Keeping communication channels open, ensuring that everyone constantly feels part of this strong team has been a challenge and we haven’t always got it right.  Lockdown, with all its pain and challenges, has opened our eyes to what we can achieve apart.

Now, months in to forced remote working, we have become stronger as a team.  Communication is better, creativity is off the scale and our ambition to reach as many learners as possible is now a reality.

We now use virtual platforms like we would a coffee break, to catch up with colleagues, to keep us all linked.  Our trainers rose to the challenge early on, transforming our training for the virtual world, and attendance on our virtual courses is more than just “up”, it’s up by more than 200% and the feedback is amazing.  I am in awe of the team for pulling together in the way they have to ensure there was no pause in our delivery, keeping our super support workers skilled to deliver high quality support to our clients.

Supported by a leadership that is equally as ambitious, JSP Training is going from strength to strength with great plans for the future to enable more learners access to our interactive and engaging courses.
