Ste prepares for his fifth performance with First Floor drama group

On Saturday 2nd July, our client Ste will be treading the boards with Leeds-based performing arts group First Floor as part of a night of celebration and creativity called ‘We’ve Been Listening’.

First Floor is West Yorkshire Playhouse’s venue for 11 to 19 year olds (14 to 25 with a learning disability). They run a variety of music, drama and art activities.

24-year-old Ste has been involved with the group for 2 years; he has been going to sessions every Saturday and has performed in 4 stage productions so far.

While Ste says he can’t dance, he loves singing and acting. “I’m a right drama queen when I want to be,” he says.

Tim Sagripanti, Ste’s case manager, has been really impressed with his involvement in activities like this. “Ste’s confidence has really increased as he’s grown up over the past 10 years,” says Tim. “He’s been really well supported to access community activities, which is testament to the co-operative working between case management and his residential support team.”

Ste is looking forward to Saturday, when the group will be having their final dress rehearsal before the performance at 7pm. For tickets visit the West Yorkshire Playhouse website.
